So i am a christian or whatevr, but latley ive been thinking about this whole cultish she-bang. God already know are future (so this is what i learned) our fates are predestined for us. then why does he let some of us go to hell and oithers not? if he already knows who is going to heaven, and picked them what is the piont? whats so speacial about his "chosen people"?! it just frustarates me! god is kind, god is good, yet hes the one who predetermined what the hell is gonna happen in our life? Whi is it that we must flock to church on sunday? Do we not love oursleves ebough? Wer have to fabricate a "god' to worship soo we can feel loved? Why! Wy cant we just like oursleves enough?I dont really care how we got here, the fact of the matter is that we are here, and who cares about it? I dunno the whole thing is just cultish and hypocritically to me now.... anyone else wanna vent about organized religion?

I'm not religious in the slightest. I've had long discussions before, but I'm not going into depth about it, but religious peoples theory's about god don't make sense (to me). You know the whole 'every watch must have a creator', the god must have had a creator and so must the person who made him.
Also, religion usually only causes problems. If you look at nearly all wars in history it has been due to religion (or at least religion was used as an excuse.
Having said that, peoples religions don't bother me, I show an interest in theirs, and quite often they'll listen to my beliefs without them thinking i'm just out to upset them.

Firstly, I dont agree with what Britt says about God controlling our future. I believe we were created to be free and make our own choices.
I do believe in God. I am not a part of any specific religious group, but I feel like I need to believe in something to feel more at ease about what lies ahead after I die - and to feel that friends and family that have already died are somewhere nice, looking down on us.
I am constantly having arguments with my family about religion vs evolution. I hate people who tell me I am wrong for what I believe in. I respect everyones beliefs and will never tell anyone that they are wrong. But some people are under the impression that you cannot believe in evolution and religion together. Well I do. And if you read the first page of the Bible, in my opinion that explains evolution from light to the creation of humans. But thats just my opinion. I believe that you dont have to go to a flashy church or donate money to the cause - Like Bono once said "the God I believe in isnt short of cash". Just be a good person, help people out and things will work out for you in the end.
The truth is, no one has an answer. So just remember never to tell anyone they are wrong for what they believe in, because for some it is pretty terrifying to think that we will be buried and eaten by worms.

Thats good. Dont let people tell you what to believe. It's something that you can only teach yourself. How would they know any more than you?

Perhaps our life now is just a test for something bigger after we 'die', some bigger perpose for what's after this.
Perhaps, like in a video game, all of our lives are just different levels and we just progress through them for eternity.
Perhaps everything we've been told about God is true.
Or a lie.
What does happen after we die? No one can tell us, that's why it's called faith.
Don't think about it too much or you'll go crazy.

I believe we were created to be free and make our own choices. Free to make our own choices? That sounds like nonsense to me. Ok, we choose everything, but ARE THESE CHOICES OURS? These choices depend on public opinion, orders, perhaps even higher forces (I don't want to use the word "God") and what not. We are being controlled, that's the truth. 'bout my religious views... I'm not religious right now, though I was once. I have had my own religious views, some kind of universalism, but now I'm simply disappointed with this. Maybe I just need some kind of provement or what - I don't know.

Someone said to me, god is my gate to freedom. Isn't that an oxymoron, if there's a gate, it means closed off areas which means your not free.

Maybe your right. But if there is going to be the return of Christ, I think it will be soon because the world is getting into a bigger mess than ever. I realise what you are saying about choices being made by public opinion etc...but you are free to escape, you dont have to follow what others do or think. So, I dont think we are controlled. I believe we have a choice and like Anny said, I think think the choices we make now will decide what happens after we die.
