OK I have to bring this up
Today at school there was a kid in Psycology class doing an experiment on the effect of music on people. So today we were listening to Comfortably Numb from Pink Floyd. Kids were saying this sucks the entire time but when one kid finally said who is this I decided to respond. I said Pink Floyd but after that she said who's Pink Floyd. I couldn't believe it I almost lost it right in class. What do you guys think about this I mean you should know who Pink Floyd is. I even know country and rap fans who know who Pink Floyd is.

Heres my take on it, people in my school veiw music as a fashion trend, and pink floyd is just like a retro vibe. Now a guy in my englklish class hates them so i covered my whole binder in pink floyd stuff and wear my shirts just to piss him off, and he actual wanted to talk to me about it, he said that he though they were bad psychedelic music.... which i never catagorized pink floyd, there are always just a catagory themselves. Then he started spurting off somgs and albums to prove his point. His knowledge of the band and rerasoning made me less hostile towwards him because he wasnt just saying it without ever listening to them and making assumtions. i dont think that story really had a piont, but people need to be more open minded and i dont know a person who hasnt ever listened to them but there are alot of people who dont listen to them and want to spread their idiotness throughout ye halls with there closedmindedness

man....like noone I know listens to Pink Floyd....much less knows who they are...I prefer not to even bother with it b/c itll just make me lose it and start preaching and screaming through frustration with them...but I run in to kids all the time that say they like Pink Floyd or are wearing their stuff...then when I start tlkin to them they have no idea what I'm talkin about b/c they dont even listen to Pink Floyd...theyre just wearing the shirt for a rocker, stoner, or vintage vibe and that really makes me mad, it especially happens b/c Urban Outfitters (dont get me wrong I love that store) sells Ramones shirts and stuff yet these girls are wearing them that don't even know who the Ramones are. Music is music, music is soul, music is life, and it should NEVER be taken as a fashion trend or faked out....thats not cool and I would never do that and thats why it makes me so mad when ppl do that...my friends think that Korn sings the original version of "Another Brick In The Wall" and I hate that b/c it shows how ignorant they are, yet when I play them some Pink Floyd they call it crap and make me turn it off, I also run in to ppl that totally nix a whole band or genre of music without even listening or getting some knowledge of it...those are the closeminded zombies of todays youth and its disgusting, a very prominent problem in The Woodlands or at least among my age group.

all my friends we all listen to somthing different, but we all have such a variety of things that we love and we are all pretty much into the underground stuff these days.. well there not too underground anymore.. like emery, my chemical romance, boys night out, underoath, coheed and cambria.. ya know the screaming stuff.. since im such an angry child.. and coheed doesnt scream that much.. but anyways...
