I have about 50+ of them, the oldest being taped in 1969. I love them, even the poor quality ones. It's fascinating to hear some of those old concerts. What alot of people dont realize is that they aren't illegal unless distributed against the artists requests. Awhile back a found a new (to me anyway) way of getting free concerts through a community. There are in a lossless format called .shn or .flac. Some of the sites/communities were featured in the New York Times and USA Today, because they are legal, as long as they are not sold. Bands are notified and the ones that deny it, are not allowed to be put out. It's fascinating and awesome. Usually newer bands refuse it, but there is tons of Floyd, which is where my collection grew. As long as you don't make cds and sell them or convert them to inferior sound (.mp3), it's cool. If you don't have DSL or cable though, I wouldn't reccomend it, it can take awhile since it's hosted by individuals.

I suppose they must be quite cool, but at the same time, you might be hearing a song that actually puts you off the band.
